We drove down on Monday.
Tuesday was out looking in Northcote, Fairfield, Alphington, Ivanhoe etc...
Today has been spent checking out Essendon, Strathmore, Moonee Ponds etc...
We seem to have settled on an area!
But now we have to actually find a house...
So far we have spotted one or two that we like.
And will head to an open for inspection or 2 on Saturday...
Wish us luck in nabbing something soon!
Anyone know what the rental market (competition)in this area is like???

Anyone know what the rental market (competition)in this area is like???
I'm in that area (the very bottom right hand corner). Renting a 2 bedroom in the mid-range and there was a bit of competition. Can't say for sure what it would be like for a house, but from my understanding there is a large ethnic (Chinese I think?) population in the Moonee Ponds area who make the area rather popular.
ReplyDeleteAll you can do is try anyway, put your best foot forward at your inspections and have your forms pre-filled. If you like it, submit them on the spot :-)

ReplyDeleteHusband wasn't a fan of Northcote. Liked Fairfield, but my husband much preferred Essendon area.
DeleteAnd it's closer to my sissy and easier for my mum to get to when/if she ends up taking care of Abi once or twice a week!
Oh! And bit easier for husband to get to work!
