Bottoms

Poor little Abi got a nappy rash not long after we got home from hospital..
I was devastated... What have I done wrong! Bad mummy... etc...

Then I had a good think about it... In hospital you are given wipes and told to use water...
Come home and it was straight to using Huggies wipes (or another variation)

Maybe these things are too strong for a new borns bottom? Maybe not for all, but for my babies bottom?

I hopped on the internet and did some searching and found the Wotnot baby range.

From their website:

Wotnot baby range has been developed by our mums to cleanse, moisturise and soothe your baby naturally. We use the finest and most gentle natural extracts. Our products are free from sulphates, petrochemicals, parabens, artificial preservatives and fragrances – we know WOTNOT to put in. WOTNOT formulas are so close to nature we know your baby will love them as much as you do!

Great! Lets order some and give it a go!
So with the help of Hydrozol cream and using the Wotnot wipes, we are clear from nappy rash! I don't feel like such a bad mumma now...
We will keep using them for a little while, but then go back to the Huggies (I have packets and packets!) but I will now know where to turn if/when nappy rash re-appears.

  1. This happened to little G as well.

We can now safely use Huggies again :)

Hope all is going well with you and your little one.

  3. I must say I love my huggies but I also use Gaia. I also have a little fan next to my change table and when I change little s, I fan her bottom dry - little thing but it really helps.

  4. I have always hated Huggies wipes and use the Johnson&Johnson unscented wipes and never had a problem.

  5. We had problems with Huggies as well. The eco ones from the supermarket were great (can't remember the brand name - but white packaging...) or the curash ones are also great, and they are the ones we use all the time now.

  6. Thanks everyone.Anonymous - I have some Curash ones so I will try those before going back to the Huggies! Thanks for the tip.
I also do hear that the J&J are much better than Huggies... I suppose it's a personal preference? I may just decide to give the Huggies ones I have to a friend instead.
Spark - I like the idea of using the fan... I will have to try and find one and give that a go too. We have been trying to have nappy off time where possible too and I think that has really helped.
Reezy - Corn Flour! well I will try this if/when we get another rash! Thanks for the tip! I don't like using creams with chemicals if I can help it, not on heir new little bums.
