Spilling the Beans

www.weheartit.com

Next week we have our annual worldwide sales conference in Sydney.
Yesterday I found out that the activity part of the conference is Circus skills and flying trapeze! Sounds really cool! But not so great for someone that will be 8 weeks pregnant.
This is where we are going www.circusarts.com.au

So this morning I arranged a meeting with Mr Boss and spilt the beans.... Yep, I'm 7 weeks pregnant...
He was very happy, not at all surprised and totally understands why I have had to tell him early, but didn't want to.
He is going to keep it top secret and hopefully he doesn't tell a soul...
We had a good old chat. He told me all about his wife and when she was pregnant with his daughter. We had a good old laugh.
I cried... I seem to cry every time I/we tell someone! Must be the hormones...
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Now at least if things aren't what they are supposed to be, things don't work out I will have someone that understands.

Tonight we are going to some very close friend of ours for dinner. And we are going to yet again spill the beans! They told us very early on when Sam (Yep another Sam) fell pregnant so we really are excited to tell them! Not sure why I'm taking a really good bottle of Moet? Seeing as I can't drink it... But hey! It's a celebration!!!

  2. Have fun spilling your beans! Its always lovely to have good news to share..

I told my closest friends fairly early on as well, as if anything were to have gone wrong I would have wanted their understanding and support anyway..

I was DREADING telling my boss so managed to put that off until 16 weeks and just came up with other excuses for getting out of any crazy physical stuff.. so good on you for getting that one out of the way early!

  3. It's hard telling work,I had to tell early too because we have one on maternity leave and another who'll be going 2 months before I do.

  4. Must be a relief for you. I understand the reluctance to tell people too early, but as you say if you have any sickness or god forbid, anything goes wrong - at least you know your boss will understand why.

Have a fun night! You can have a little sippy of Moet - it would be rude not to! hehe Actually, I remember seeing a programme on TV once when I was on holiday in America all about that. They had a panel of expert doctors talking about it, who all said that it is perfectly fine to have a little bit of alcohol actually, but there is just a social stigma ... they were saaying especially for a visibly, heavily pregnant woman they wouldn't feel comfortable sipping on a glass of wine during dinner out at a restuarant or something because of what other people would think ... but that in fact, they should & there is nothing wrong with it. Obviously not every day or anything, but they seemed to be saying that one glass or so a week was no problem whatsoever.
