New Additions

Not just yet!
But we have some news and some toys!

My great friend Philippa is FINALLY back in AUS after 7 weeks in Europe visiting family and friends.
We caught up yesterday and first she gave me some wonderful wonderful news!!! She is pregnant! This will be their second child. They already have Hania who is 15 months old and a little superstar!
I haven't seen her so long and at first she didn't recognise me, but it didn't take long and we were back to being friends! It was amazing to see how much she had changed and is now walking and talking!

So first new addition - New baby on the way!!!
Next additions... Kindly donated for our use from Philippa...

Baby Bjorn

Fisher Price Rocker

Safe and Sound Baby Capsule

They have also lent us their baby bath and little baby rest that goes in the bath, another carrier/sling thing and also bought back a huge bag of baby girl clothes from the UK!

We are very very lucky and it is a huge blessing to be able to borrow this stuff. Such a saving!

Bless them.

1,2,3,4,5

5 weeks till due date!
Husband is still sure she is coming early. But now says 1 week early...

I cheated a little and took these photos last night to document the 35 week stage...

I had a few meetings yesterday so had to be a little more dressed up than I have been for work lately.
I actually bought this dress on Saturday from Target for $17.40 !!!
I wore it with a black blazer, black opaque tights and black patent mid heels from Robert Robert that I have owned forever and ever.

Looking forward to the weekend and only 2 more weeks of work to go!!!
I am bored out of my mind with nothing to do and just can't wait for it to be over...

Belly Bandit

Did you?
Would you?
Will you?

www.bellybandit.com.au

This is the question...

Seems that celebrities do

When I googled celebrity belly bandit this picture came up... I presume they used it?

They aren't cheap either!
About $75 and then there is the singlet option starting at around $100

I'd love some feedback if you could share...
Is it worth the $$$
I will be back to the gym once I can, but anything to help is always welcome, but I don't want to go spending all this money for something that I might not use or isn't worth it...

Bright Ideas...

So on Saturday I made a purchase...

I don't know how to sew. I have never sewn before in my life!
So I'm not really sure why I bought this... But hey! I have big plans!

I have many friends that can sew and are willing to teach me. They also said it's really easy and I should get the hang of it pretty quickly.
If not, I will look into having some lessons...

Ever made a crazy or obscure purchase just on a whim?

MY Birthday Boy

It's my wonderful amazing husbands birthday today!
He is actually turning 39 today! The big 4 0 coming up next year!
We are having some friends over for a lovely lunch cooked by me.

This is his last chance to have a few (few too many) drinks today and tonight... Before it's on the straight and narrow waiting for Buggy to come along.

I love this photo of us! It's actually the first photo we ever had together - I actually took it! And I love how skinny my face looks! ha ha! vain I know. But also, we just look so so happy! And there has been no turning back either. I am so in love with him, as I know he is with me. I know he is my number one and I am so lucky to have him as my husband.

xoxo

Oh the joys

The joys of pregnancy...
The latest for me is reflux. It started at around 30 weeks.
It's horrible, painful and so not very nice...

First I tried bubble gum!

Sounds silly I know, but I read it on a website so decided to give it a try...
It was actually pretty good! But then the reflux got worse as the pregnancy progressed.

Next was Gaviscon

HORRIBLE. Just horrible. I hated it and preferred to just have nothing.

But it got worse...
Next...

Not bad! Pretty good and currently what I have been having.
A little yuck at first. But worth it.

Today I got myself some Zantac!

Will see how it goes...
I did check with the Doctor first though for this one.
And will report back.

6 to go!

So here I am at 34 weeks! I can't quite believe it!
The time has flown.
Not sure how keen I am on this shot...
But I can only try to pose for a certain amount of time while the Mister takes a million crappy shots...
This is the best of a very bad bunch.

We have been going to 'how to have a baby' classes ion Thursday nights...
Week one was good.
Week two seemed like a waste of time.
We didn't go to week 3.
And at week 4 last night we finally had the hospital tour...
It all seems very very real now. I'm feeling a little scared.

Oh and there is 3 more weeks of these classes to go... We wont be going. We have been quite disappointed in them and as a trainer, I find it very very hard to be 'taught' the same thing over and over and over and by a very very very boring trainer/midwife.
I know that sounds really horrible... But these classes are really not very good. And we aren't the only couple that aren't going back... We over heard 2 others saying the same thing.

One of the boys

So I forgot to take a 33 weeks photo of the belly... But then I realised that I actually did have one!
This photo is from last Friday (officially 33 weeks pregnant) with the team of guys I currently work with.

We had our sales conference last Wed-Fri and this was taken first thing on Friday morning.
The guy in the blue shirt next to me is my boss and the one on the other side of him is the guy that's replacing me.

I actually adore all these guys in their own little way.
I am going to miss them a lot.
They have always been great to me, and in fact I rather enjoy working with all guys anyway!

I can tell you that the belly is even bigger this week and I will "officially" update the blog tomorrow with a 34 week shot. 34 weeks........ I can't quite believe it!

Naughty Nana

The other day when I posted about my baby shower gifts, I didn't at all mention anything that my mum bought...
That's because it deserves a post all of it's own...
We have one very naughty nana on our hands...
Look at just what we were given at the baby shower...

Can you even see it all??? There is bibs, grow suits, dresses, leggings, a little pair of Hav's and more...
All on top of this beautiful blanket

So... I need your help... How on earth to I stop this naughty nana!

A NON baby related post (for a change...)

So it seems that it's all been baby, baby, baby around here lately.
I'm sorry bloggers that are not all that interested in all the baby stuff...

So, we have been getting some stuff done around the house too!
Do you remember that the house had a blue door, window, balcony etc...
Well...
Now look!

So the top of the house (balcony) is not finished yet... But the bottom part is done and also the security door and screen for the window are on!
We are very very happy with our decision!
And think it looks brilliant!
Really glad we kept the cream/white accents and one day think we will change the colour of the house to a grey colour... Maybe. And not for a few years anyway.

Showered with Gifts

So I have had my Melbourne baby shower with family and it was just lovely.
My mum and my sister did such a wonderful job and although I did stipulate NO GAMES there was just one game to be played and it was ok...
They had a clothes horse and you had to see how many pegs you could "take off the line" with one hand.
I had 12. I thought I did a brilliant job! Not so. Mum got to 19 and a good family friend Lisa got 20!
She won a lovely little prize - a vase.

The rest of the time was spent chatting and catching up with everyone and having a glass of champagne.

I am terrible and didn't take any photos... Except for a few when we first set up

I am amazed by the generosity of people every time.
Here is just a small selection of some of the gifts that we received

There was also lots of clothes and books which are all beautiful. I love everything!
But there is one very special gift that deserves a very special mention and photo all on it's own

Can you read the tag? BABY DIOR! this beautiful most divine 100% wool grow suit was gifted to us by my wonderful sister... Along with lots of lots of other things too...

We have one very spoilt little Buggy on our hands here... Even her mummy doesn't own a piece of Dior!

It's all about the Bug

Sure seems its all about the Bug at the moment... (Or I should say baby)
I am on the home stretch. Most people think I am going to have her early. I don't.

I was in K-Mart just taking a look around killing time because A DIAMOND FELL OUT OF MY WEDDING BAND. AGAIN. GRR...
And was looking at all the baby stuff... It's also all about the dad...

They were only $5 each, but I decided to say no. And walked away.

I did however say YES! to this

But will put it away for Christmas for Buggy.
Speaking of Christmas... It really isn't all that far away. This year has well and truly flown. We are setting a good budget of $100 on gifts for Buggy from mummy and daddy, but I think we will probably go over. Thing is... At around 3-4 months old, she is going to have no idea whats going on anyway.

I have the first of my baby showers this weekend! My family one in Melbourne!
I'm excited! Mainly to see my family, as this will be the last trip to Melbourne before the birth of Buggy.

I have made some cute little 'lolly bags' as a small token thank you to my guests

I'm feeling pretty thrifty about the whole thing and they only cost about $2 each.

Can't wait for the week to be over (a hugely busy one at work) before jetting to Melbourne on Saturday morning.

Baby Lily!

We went to Terrigal yesterday to meet my new baby cousin LILY!
I have an uncle that is 18 months younger than me...
My nana had my mum at 19 and my mum had me at 19.
My nana re-married and had another baby.
It's really not all that strange.

My nana and Geoff her husband were up visiting so nana had her oldest grandchild (me) there and her youngest grandchild there (Lily)

She is just beautiful! And I'm sure Lily and Buggy will grow up to be great little buddies!!!
Doesn't my nana look pretty damn good for 69, having breast cancer in the past year and the mother of 6 children!

(Excuse my hair! It looks terrible! I didn't wash it... It was the weekend after all)

32 - 8

The count down is seriously on!

32 down. 8 to go... (or so...)
Been a big week.
My replacement started at work.
I had to get a new phone and phone number. It's been a NIGHTMARE... Just now I text everyone in my address book to say I have a new number... I still have my old number for about another 2 weeks though.
We had our second baby class last night... First one was pretty good. Last night seemed like a wast of time. There is 7 in total (2 hours 6-8pm on Thursday nights for 7 weeks) we think we will miss next week and go to week 4 which is a tour of the hospital and maternity ward... Will be important to know where to go when water breaks and I go into labour...

Another friend had a baby on Wednesday. Another girl! (that's now 4 girls and 1 boy in two weeks) They called her Stella Blue (plus her surname)

Phew! I'm glad it's the weekend.
We are off to Terrigal on Sunday to see my new baby cousin! My nana is going to be there too!!! I haven't seen her for a little while so looking forward to it.

Have an awesome weekend everyone! Hope the sun is shining and it's not too cold.

xoxo

Seriously... I need a new photographer. My husband is USELESS... Another bad shot.

Baby Shower Bargains!

So next Saturday is my Melbourne (Family) baby shower...
My sister and my mum are hosting and organising the whole thing.

It stated with a lady bug theme which I quite like seeing as we have always called this baby Bug then Buggy.

I felt I needed to do something!
So firstly I came up with this

Step one: Find cute gift tag image in the Internet (and steal borrow it)
Step two: Take advantage that I am still at work and can print and then laminate 40+ tags at work! Write names of guest on each tag.
Step three: Cut them all out and hole punch them (wish I had one of those cute little hole punch things.)
Step four: Buy 3mm x 6 metres of cute green ribbon from Spotlight and attach to each tag.

Step five - will be to attach to each glass like the above tester prior to guest arrival.

TOTAL COST: 99 cents for the ribbon! Well and my time but that is priceless!

What about a thank you note to send to each guest after the event to thank them for coming, their lovely gift etc...

Step one: Find cute image in the Internet (and steal borrow it) Add the words "Baby Shower - thank you" under image.
Step two: Take advantage that I am still at work - steal borrow nice card stock from stationary cupboard, then print and guillotine each thank you

TOTAL COST: $0.00 not a single cent! I even did a few ones with just "thank you" on them for other things.
Well the cost will end up being envelopes and stamps...

I am a huge fan of the lolly bag! So why not have them for my baby shower! (Any excuse)
But I am waiting for some little cello bags to come in the post that I bought off Ebay so I will leave that idea for another day!

I love my DADDY!

Well I do love my daddy... But I spotted this while out today and could not resist!

And for $6 how could have not bought it!!!
Can't wait to show the husband when he gets home tonight!!!

It's going to be real touch and go as to whether he is a daddy for fathers day or not...
DD - Friday the 2nd of September... Fathers day Sunday the 4th of September...
I don't think this baby is coming early.

Belly has grown again! And it also seems to have 'dropped' ?
Not sure what any of that means...
Must take another photo..
I have horrible reflux at the moment too.
And although I am tired I can't sleep... I seem to wake up when I go to bed. Grr...

Bought it!

Finally I have my 30th birthday present from my family!
We went back today to Jimmy Possum and I bought the painting I saw there yesterday...

I took a few shots before we left... We will pick it up next week.

It wasn't easy to get a good shot of it, so I will be sure to post about it again once it takes pride of place in our dining/living area!

I feel like the house is all really starting to come together now. Quite comforting.
Is this what they call 'nesting'?

A very successful weekend indeed!

Successul Saturday!

The Mister went off to work as per usual this morning... Just like every other Saturday (Although a little under the weather after a few too many drinks last night)

As I cozied in for a quiet day (was not going to leave the house to even go to the gym!) he called me up and said it was a quiet day and he was coming home and could work remotely off the phone for the day)

I showered and dressed. I wore my trusty Jeans West Maternity jeans, a white 3/4 sleeve top ($10 at K-Mart) and and old vest thingy I bought from Oxford years and years ago.
Scuse the shocking photography - it took about 6 go's to get this one... And scuse my funny look and crappy hair (hair cut booked for Tuesday!)

So shopping we did!

First stop - the mirror shop.
This mirror is for above our fireplace:

And this one is going to go 'long ways' on the wall where our dining table is:

We were shocked at the prices!
Yes, we know they are probably only cheap imports, but that's fine with us and great for the budget too!
We paid $550 for both!

Over at Moore Park (in Sydney) at the Supa Centa we were taking a look around and walked into Jimmy Possum... Well I was stopped dead in my tracks before making it in the door by a stunning painting! And well no, I haven't bought it yet (nor do I have a photo) but quite possibly I am going to go back tomorrow and buy it... Will let you know!

Off to Birkenhead Point (to Coles) we stopped in at the DJ's outlet... 50% off Children's stuff...

Bubba Blue flanelette sheet set for $10

And a few more bits and bobs for not all that much each at all!!!

Oops! Then we "just happened" to walk past Seed...

Well it was an extra 25% off the marked price! All these were $14.95 each! Bargain for Seed and such good quality...

Also think we have found the cabinet we want for under our stairs!
Thinking about it over the weekend now...

Now to relax on the lounge, watch some tele and have some vegies and good old chicken schnitzel for dinner!
