I can see clearly now

Image via www.weheartit.com
For the fast two weeks I have has a headache.
The midwife at RPA said it was nothing to worry about.
A few days later the Doctor said I had nothing to worry about. I could take Panadol and I should be fine. Wont harm the baby etc...
Still a headache. Off to have a pressure point massage. Wonderful! And funnily enough the baby was moving around heaps during it too. Now that was cool and did lift my spirits.
Going back on Monday.
But still a headache.
Yesterday I was in the city doing some training, I nearly passed out... Twice...
Off for an eye test yesterday afternoon. My current prescription is too strong and that may be effecting the headaches. Suggested not wearing my glasses for a while and see if that helps.
Got a brand new pair of glasses! Another pair of Pradas! I can't wait to pick them up early next week. That too cheered me up!
But sill... A headache.

Baby baby baby...

This is apparently what our baby currently looks like at 17 weeks.
Around 13 cm's from crown to rump (I say butt)
It is so amazing to see how they grow so quickly and all the changes that occur.
I get weekly email updates from the Huggies mum to be website and also from the Baby Center site.
I find them really useful and full of information.

2 weeks today and counting till we have our next scan and get to see little Bug again!!!
And find out the sex of little Bug too!!!

Stalker

No, I don't have a stalker and no, I'm not stalking anyone...
I can't stop driving past our new house and seeing this!

Lucky for us the property is currently vacant and no one is living there.
Still... Imagine what the neighbour's must think!
Oh well... Not too much longer and we will be moving in!!!

Still no news on  the table and if he has accepted our offer... Grr... Must follow that up today.

Bumpity Bump

I'm actually starting to get a bit of a bump!
It's kinda cool, but I really do just look fat.
It's still cool though.
I have had a headache for a week now so I went to the doctor this morning. She is not worried. She said bug will have developed all his/her internal organs by now, and taking Panadol will not him it in any way.
I don't like taking Panadol at the best of times, and especially at the moment. But she assures me that it is totally fine and I should take it as I need it.
In other news, I bought a new pair of pants for work today. Target maternity ones. They have a fold over waist thingy, so I can wear them now, grow into them and wear them later too!
What a bonus that Target also had 20% off pants and tops! I see them getting quite a bit of wear over the next few n=months...

More news! And some very exciting news! Have you heard that Faux Fuchsia had her baby? NO? Well see here!

How about the rain?

Wow! I can't believe how much rain we are having...
Chatting to my mum earlier today, I said if your ever stuck for a gift to buy us you can always get us a rain gauge.
Living in a semi rural area, having a kind of farm (80 acres - approx 50 km's from Melbourne) they have one, have tank water for the house etc...
I'm always interested to know how much rain we have...

It's been a busy few days.

Friday the Sale was made final on the house! Yippie!
Saturday - In the morning I needed to keep busy. So I went shopping! (Any excuse) I needed jeans. My jeans are too tight now and with the cooler weather coming up... I ended up buying the Jeans West Maternity jeans. So far so good.

After shopping I headed home and started getting ready for the auction and also to head out to lunch with the girls.
Around 1pm I headed over to have a final look at the house and then we started bidding at the auction. And well, you know the result of that!!!
Then I raced off to meet the girls for lunch at Otto

photo taken from here

It was so lovely to catch up with everyone! Pity about the weather though. I had lovely barramundi (it was in the specials apparently. It was ordered for me. Everyone else was very happy with their meals too.

After that, I met up with my husband for a celebratory drink! (I had a Soda, lime and bitters) then it was home for some home made pizzas. A lovely relax on the lounge and an early night.

Sunday was a quiet day for me. Erin (my husband) had to work so I caught up with a friend for a few hours then headed home to relax and chill for a bit.

Today has been manic. This morning we had an appointment at RPA for the baby. Got to hear the heart beat again which is so cool! Then got told that due to having quite small nipples I may not be able to breast feed. But they will check again in about a month.
I really do hope I can. I feel that it is important for both the mother and child. So fingers crossed it all works out.
After that I had to race back t work and it has been crazy busy there too. It's going to be a long week...

Now just waiting for that dear husband of mine to come so we can chill and relax with a bit of TV and a cuddle!

It's ours!

After a very nervous morning, trying to keep as busy as I could (more on that tomorrow - because I went shopping) we finally headed to the auction of the house we really really really wanted... I was scared. I wanted this house. I had been up the night before imagining how we could furnish it, what our bedroom would look like and even the babies room too.

Anyway, without further ramblings... This is it! It's ours! We were the highest successful bidders at auction! (originally built in 1881)

The front. It was only painted about 1.5 years ago so we wont have to worry for some time. We are going to put a security door on the front and also security bars on the window. They will look nice I promise.

This will be our bedroom Already has built-ins thank god! We are going to get a new bed when we move in! A queen! Finally!

The living space. Built-in cabinet for the TV. And that is a working gas fireplace! brilliant! Horrible light fittings... These will need to be changed at some point...

The dining area. Bit too red for my liking. We are going to get the place re-painted before we move in. See that dining table? Well I love it! And the owner was there today and said we can make him an offer to buy it! It was made in Berry (kind of the Highlands - near where we got married) with recycled timber from the old timber mill in the Balmain/Rozelle peninsula!  (Where we live!) It's meant to be. I just know it.

We are very very happy. Over the moon in fact! And we paid less than we were willing to spend! Bonus!

16 Weeks

16 weeks today.
Not much change in the belly area for the past 2 weeks.
I was (and still am) a little concerned that I wasn't putting on weight or getting any bigger.
I spoke to two of my friends that have told me not to worry and so has my mum.
Mum said she didn't show at all till about 6 months.
But I just can't shake my worry.
We have an appointment with the midwife at RPA on Monday so I'm going to bring it up then.

I also got so super exciting news yesterday! One of my best friends from school is pregnant!
She told me yesterday. She is due 3 weeks after me.
I updated my Facebook status to "And it's SOLD!" a few hours later I was just looking around on the net, and looked on FB again. I had a private message from her that read "So now that the house is sold, I hope your moving back to Melbourne so that our children can grow up together"

I'm so excited! It's some of the best news I have received since finding out about my own pregnancy!

As for the house. Yes! It's sold! We are just crossing our fingers that today the purchaser signs the 66W (Cooling off Waiver) so that we can bid at an auction tomorrow.

EDITED AT 4.44pm - Exchanged on our property! It's final! It's really and truly SOLD! Now for tomorrows auction...

Thoona or later

On Tuesday I headed to Albury for work.
I flew down on Tuesday morning and had back to back appointments all afternoon.
Finished at around 7pm

My aunty and uncle live in a little town called Thoona about an hours drive from Albury so I decided to stay with them rather than spend a boring night in a hotel.
They have 3 daughters and we are all very close. 2 of them live in Melbourne, but the youngest Sarah still lives at home so it was great to see her too!

They are both the best cooks! So I was mighty excited for dinner too! We had quiche. sounds boring... But I love quiche and my aunties is the best! Home made pastry, eggs from their chooks... And even a salad made nearly all from their home vegie patch!

As a treat, I took a box of Macaroons from Adriano Zumbo's for them!
My uncle loves master chef and it was my aunties birthday on Wednesday.
My uncle was our MC at out wedding and has now nicknamed them Macaroons from Fatty Bumbo! (and it sounds even funnier when he says it with his English accent...

So they live in this little town called Thoona...

This is what is in the main street of Thoona:

The Pub - Google Images

And the General Store - Again google Images

That's it! Just a pub and a general store. Its a great little town. Really friendly people. I always enjoy going there for a visit. And whats better? At their house mobile phones don't always work properly!!! I love it!

The little things

Yesterday I had a great start to the day.
We met friends for coffee (Juice for me)
We wandered around the Rozelle markets.
I bought a book for a fiver...
We braved Baby Kingdom.
Then I started having stomach cramps on the way home.

Dear husband went out for a bit in the afternoon and I just seemed to get worse. I just rested on the lounge and watched crappy TV.

Then when he came home he bought the tiniest tub of this:

I tell you it cheered me up immensely!
Something so simple, such a small gesture, yet can mean so much.
Isn't that what marriage is all about?

Long and Lonely Road...

3 days
1468 km's
5 country towns
12 meetings

Yep. That's been me. But I'm finally home. Phew.
For work about once every 3 months I head to Wagga, Griffith, West Wyalong, Temora and Young all in country NSW. Half those towns most people have probably never even heard of!
It's long. It's tiring. It's lonely. It consists of hotels and room service... But hey... It's my job.

It rained for about half of the trip too.

Looks like the house is sold! Just got some pain in the bum purchasers. Their bank is taking a little longer than expected to finish off what they need to do so we are still having an open tomorrow, but then hopefully all sorted early next week! It better be... For the past 3-4 weeks we have only found one house within our price range that we like and it goes up for auction next Saturday the 19th at 1.30pm (Which also means it looks like I am going to miss girls lunch at Otto... Maybe I can make dessert?)

Please cross your fingers for me! And I hope everyone has a BRILLIANT weekend!!!

Horrible Hair

Firstly, I am not a fan of swearing. But I am not happy. So I'm gonna swear.
Fuck Shit Poo Bum Grr Angry Damn Crap Crap Crap

It's all Holly's fault. My ex hairdresser but still current friend. She decided to go get herself a full time job with GHD so its too bloody hard to get her to cut my hair anymore.... I'm not the only one, it's the same for all our friends.
Now don't get me wrong. We are all extremely happy for her. She has a brilliant job and is very very happy there...
BUT
I was in desperate need of a fringe trim, so I decided to try somewhere new today. I walked in... Sat down... I was there for maybe 8 minutes? I said I didn't wait it too short, I don't need to look like a school girl... She cut, Asked what I thought... It's a bit short I said... That's ok, it hasn't been dried or straightened she said to me... Then whipped the cape off and said I was done? Woah! What about drying, straightening, finishing up? I was just in shock and didn't say anything. I thought I had made myself clear when I said it was too short... Then she walked away? So up to the counter I went and was charged $15... I'm still unsure what for?
I have come home dried and straightened and now seem to have a fringe with two layers? Look at my profile picture? That's what it is SUPPOSED to look like. That's what it looked like (just a little long) before I went in...

Lucky for me I'm away for work in the country the next two days so no one I know will see me till the weekend... And the all important girls lunch is not till the 19th so hopefully I will be right by then.

Damn you Holly The Hair Dresser... I want you back!

Ok. Rant and whinge over.

Feeling Chunky

14 weeks.  The second trimester!
We have made it so far!
First bump photo.
And I've lost the camera... (Taken by terrible photographer husband - on my Blackberry)
So you can just see that where my tummy used to be fairly flattish (well was when I sucked my stomach in!) that now it sticks out - like a little 'podge'

It's hard and not flabby fat, but I still just feel kind of fat really.

Another open home tomorrow. And a few houses we are going to take a second look at. (Fingers crossed)

Say hello to Phoenix

This is Phoenix! This is the first thing that I have bought for Bug!
I think he is super cute!
You can get him or one of his friends from www.pennyscallan.biz
I bought him today in Berry NSW of all places! I was on my way home from a work trip, and I always stop in Berry at the lolly shop to buy my husband green frog lollies (I can't get them anywhere! But I can in Berry) and while I was walking along this little guy caught my eye! The lady in the shop was lovely! The shop was lovely! I could have bought more... The shop was called Bed Bugz, take a look if your ever down there.

Autumn

Image via www.weheartit.com
So it was officially the first day of Autumn today. And a sticky hot humid day in Sydney.
I'm over this heat I tell you. Sorry... I will probably we complaining of the cold in a few months, but I really just am not coping with the heat at all.
I now have an official going on leave date as of today... 12th August will be my last day at work. They are going to be replacing me, because when I go back to work (if I go back) I wont be doing the same job. Too much travel and long hours.
24 (not even) weeks to go. It's actually kind of scary thinking about it. But exciting too.

Yesterday one of my dads cows gave birth to a breach calf.
Lucky they were able to pull it out (just before the vet got there) but then sadly today the mother died. Unfortunately on Friday last week a calf died from another heifer. They haven't been having much luck. So now they are trying to get the heifer to accept the orphan calf and have her rear it as her own. Fingers crossed this works (it can and does) and they wont have to fully bottle feed the orphaned calf.

It's scary to see how things can go wrong giving birth be it an animal or human.
I really to need to start thinking about that.

On a brighter note! We had someone arrange a pest and building inspection on our property today! Our agent (also a friend) thinks we will only have one more open this weekend and it's going to sell pretty quick. The interest has been outstanding.
And you know what? I trust her completely. She isn't allowed to lie! She is too good a friend to us!

Friday is going to be my first belly photo day! (Clothed and 'G' Rated) - 14 weeks!
