Too Cute!

Just wanted to share a picture of our friends daughter Hania. She is the apple of her parents eye.
Here she is in her daddy's "toy" boat! My husband is going to be her God Father when they Christen her!
We had dinner with them last night and they asked him!!! (He cried)

Roller Coaster Rides

Life has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for us lately... House renovation plans, weddings, babies, trips away, family, health and much more.

So, this morning I prayed. I am Catholic. But not all that religious. I don't go to Church on Sundays (or really ever for that matter).
I prayed and thanked God for my amazing life, my wonderful husband and for being so blessed with all the things I have.
Then I asked God to help us on the road to babyville. I said I would love to be pregnant by Christmas and how cool would it be to be able to surprise our families with the news on Christmas Day!
And most importantly, I prayed for the health of of husband.
I apologised that I don't do enough and that I don't pray enough. But you know, I was thinking about it afterward and I think we all do pray in different ways a lot of the time.
So there you have it. You might think I'm crazy? But I just felt like its what I wanted to do and needed to do at the time. I feel much more peaceful now and ready to start my weekend.

Thanks to those that commented on my last post. I was feeling really down and crap. My husband came home not long after and we just hugged for a long long time.

We are going to plan a holiday! We have actually been talking about it for some time! We are going to have about 2 weeks off once school goes back next year. I suppose we might as well take advantage that we don't have to holiday only on the school holidays just yet!

We are going to give the baby making another 2 months and that will be a total of 6. If nothing has happened by then we are going to head to the doctors and see what they can do to help us.

Isn't it funny that we all read these peoples blogs. We don't know each other, but we feel happy and sad and all the different emotions for people that really are strangers? Or maybe we know each other better than we think? You guys out there in the blogsphere probably know more about how I feel than some of my friends. So, thank-you all for listening or reading I really appreciate it.

Slacker

I have been a bot of a slacker. Sorry.
We had a lovely lovely time in Byron for the weekend. The wedding was lovely. I will blog more about that when I have a picture or two to show you. I was a real slacker and didn't take any!
Loved spending time (what limited time we had) with my hubby.
Back to work on Tuesday and have had two very very busy days.

Feeling really down and frustrated. This baby making thing is just not going the way I thought it would. I was pretty cool about it all this month, but when reality hits that it hasn't happened again it is hard. REALLY hard. I even had a little cry today.

So that's it for me for now. I do have lots to blog about, but just not really feeling like it right now. I will be back in a couple of days. Don't even feel like putting a picture up. Sorry.

Take care all. And best wishes to Sass and Spice! She is currently in labour and blogging!!! Crazy girl!

6 Months

(This is a pre written post. We are away in Byron Bay at a wedding, I wrote this post Friday before we left)

Today the 24th of October is the 6 month mark of our marriage.
I love my husband as much (if not more) today than I did the day we married.
I love the picture above from our wedding, because we stand like this quite often just taking in a moment together speaking no words just having that moment.

I feel like I waited a long time to get married and I know many people my age (30) are well and truly married and have children etc... But for me, I cant see myself with any other person. It just too longer  for me to find Mr. Right. And that's Mr. Right FOREVER.

Love is in the air

I nicked this image off my friends FB photos - I don't think she actually took it though.

Tomorrow we are heading to Byron Bay for our very close friends Samantha and Adam's wedding.
I have been primped and preened tonight with eyebrow wax, eyelash tint, mani and pedi and a spray tan! All for $95 on special from my beautician! (A saving of $75)
We were going to drive, but at the last minute changed our minds and have decided to fly.
On Sunday we will celebrate together 6 months of marriage!!! We are going to have a nice walk along the beach before meeting everyone for breaky, then its down to the pub with everyone to have a post wedding bash.
We are flying home on Monday.
4 day long weekend for us! Yay!
Will tell you all about the wedding (including photos) on my return to Sydney...

And now I'm off to watch Grand Designs Australia! I'm so excited for this show! I just love renovation shows!

Our Plans...

Ok, so this is what the layout of our place currently looks like...
Very NON user friendly, all over the place and not great for entertaining.
Dark, dingy and small little rooms all over the place.

And this is what it is going to look like!
A bedroom at the front of the house (spare/babies room)
Then our bedroom, and we are getting built-ins!!! At the moment we just have stuff all over the place... Grr...
The bathroom is moving to where the kitchen currently is. It's not going to be huge and I MUST have a bath this time, so its shower in bath for us.
So that our bedroom can technically be called a bedroom we have to put a window in. How do we do that? We have a void type space where the bathroom is. Means there is somewhere to put the hot water service etc.. too.
Then we will have an open plan kitchen and living space!!! Great for entertaining! Opens up the house! Big bi-fold doors on the back of the house to open up to the small deck and yard.

Keep in mind that the whole land size is only 135 Sqm!!! It really is quite tiny. But with the right layout it will really make a difference.

It is currently old, tired and pretty much crap. Next I will take some photos of how it currently looks and post them up!

I don't really know what we are going to do inside? We do know we will be keeping it neutral and quite plain so that it is sellable in the future.
We really only plan to be in this house for about 3 years maximum so we need to be really careful with what we spend and how we spend it.
Then we may keep it and move to Melbourne??? (that's what I want to do) or buy something bigger?
Or we may sell it and still buy something bigger???
Depends on cash flow at the end of the day doesn't it.

Yippie!

The title of my blog is Marriage Renovations And...
You have all heard bits and pieces about my marriage, I have filled you in on what the 'And' part means... But there has been something missing... RENOVATIONS
It isn't an easy task and we have been working on it, but nothing really all that 'newsworthy' till today...

Anyway... I came home today and found this on our front gate!!!
All neighbours will have also received a letter to fill them on on what we are planning to do to our little house.

And now we wait...

RPM

Pic from: http://www.blogto.com/fitness/rpm-spinning-studio
Headed off to RPM at 8am this morning...
Haven't been for about 6 months!
Jeepers Creepers! It was hard! And it makes it harder when your next to one very fit thin friend and then the person teaching the class is another fit, thin friend.
I did good! And I have realised how much I do actually love the class! (I think...)
So, although I will be away in Byron next weekend... I will be back the week after!

Bring it on!

Shoe Anatomy

I love love love shoes! I have way too many pairs...
Donna from snippets of my life suggested a website to look at for a print for my sister for her birthday and while I was looking I came across this!
The "ball breaker" bit gave me a giggle! Any pointy toe shoes, my dad calls 'arse kickers'...
As for the birthday present for my sister.... I still don't know what I am getting her...

Cousins

I have a lot of cousins... My mum and dad are both one of 6 kids!!!
My mum and dad have always been really close with dad's sister Robyn and her husband Peter (or Gibbo... he was also our MC at our wedding)
Peter and Robyn have 3 girls. Then there is my sister and I and we have our 2 brothers...
Their girls and all of my siblings are really close. We holidayed together from an early age and still sometimes do! We now just have a few husbands and boyfriends to add to the mix!

At my mum and dad's recent birthday bash the 5 girls seemed to hang out all night!
Here are a few crazy shots taken by my sister! (um, yep she is in the shots and taking the shots!)

*** Disclaimer *** these photos were taken after many glasses of champagne...

Me and my beautiful sister with a flower in her hair

Katie and Emma

Katie, Ellen and Me (with strange eyes?!?)

The 5 of us! Me, Katie, Sarah, Ellen and Emma.
Big sister and little sister!

Help...

Ok, so it's my sisters birthday soon...
I have no idea what to get her... And after the 100% success rate I had with both dad's present and mum's present I really want to make this one prefect too...
It's just a normal birthday, she will be 28 so I will probably spend around $100-$120 ish ???
Help me! I don't know what to get her and she is so ever special to me I want to get something good...

Ideas??? Please???

And look how different we are! This was a picture taken just before we went off to the church on my wedding day (do I look nervous or what!)

Happy Pills

Today we had an appointment with the GP for my hubbys diabetes.

Doc was really positive about the whole situation.
So Mr is on some medication to help, and is under strict instructions to exercise at least 3 times a week, plus keeping an eye of his diet.

I know the diet is good. We eat the same stuff!
As for the exercise... Well my Mr. had been a little slack lately, but I was really surprised when he popped to the gym yesterday when I couldn't be bothered (I did go Saturday though)

So it's all positive, positive, positive for now.
We have a specialist appointment on the 18th of November (that's how long we have to wait), so for the time being hubby will pop to the GP about once a fortnight for tests and stuff to monitor it all.

For some even MORE exciting news!!! My pap test came back A'ok and the extra pre-natal blood tests I had were all perfect too! So even with the hubbys small issue, we are still on the baby making train. Hopefully its 3rd month lucky and we have some good news soon.

How many eggs in your basket?

When we were at mum and dad's last weekend we got a dozen eggs to take home!
Freshly laid by their chooks! (I think they have about 10 chooks)
They are honestly the best eggs ever!
After we have them for a bit, I find it really hard to go back to store bought ones... Even the "free range" "barn laid" "allowed to roam free" etc... ones are not as good as the ones that you know exactly where they come from, how they are treated and what they are fed.
Same goes for dad's beef. But it has been a very very long time since that has happened. Too hard, too messy....
Anyhoo... Thursday night we had a few with our steak and salad. Saturday I had one for breaky on an english muffin and we still have 8 left. Might make some scrambled eggs for me and my man this morning!!! YUM!!!

Oh Wow! Did anyone notice the date today??? 10/10/10

I am (no longer) an ASOS virgin

Yep you heard it here first.
I have never ordered anything from ASOS until just the other day!

Here is what I ordered

I copied Desert Darling. She bought this a few days ago
She bought the maternity sizing. I wont be needing that as yet...
I have a wedding in a few weeks in Byron, so if it arrives in time, fits and I love it I will wear it to the wedding!

A great casual dress for hanging out in at home and cheap!

Another hang out at home dress (and for about $15 I couldn't resist!)

I'm a bit unsure on this one. But it was cheap and it could really work for work... I got it in the 'longer' length.

So there you have it, I am no longer an ASOS virgin.
If this order (that totalled to about $80 incl postage!) works out for me I will be back....

Not sure if that's a good thing? Or a bad one? Poor Credit Card I'm thinking...

Reiki

This afternoon I am going to see a lady for some Reiki treatment.
She was referred to me from a very close friend.
Initially my reasons for giving it a go was to help alleviate some of the stress on the trying to conceive front.
Now, I think not only will it be good for that, but also after to news we received about my husbands health this week.

What is Reiki? Reiki is a non-invasive, gentle, yet powerful method of healing. Reiki energy, (often described as `universal life energy' or `spiritual energy') is accessed by the practitioner during a treatment. It enhances the body’s natural healing ability and promotes well being.

Reiki & Conception? Conceiving a child is sometimes not a simple thing for everyone and can be emotionally painful and draining experience. Finding your inner strength throughout the process is an empowering coping mechanism. Reiki offers a simple approach to coping with conception struggles by easing your stress, doubts, fears and emotions from running amuck and physical bodily changes resulting from hormone treatments

Mmm Macarons

Mmm, Macarons!
Last night I was very much craving some macarons, so this morning before I headed off to work I popped into Adriano Zumbos and picked up these lovely macarons for me and the guys at work.
They were utterly delish! I had 3!!!
Great for the taste buds, not so great for the hips...

Not feeling very bloggy at the moment. My husband had just found out he has diabetes.
We really don't know much. We have an appointment to go back to the GP on Monday (he is currently on a weeks leave) and I have so far booked an appointment with the specialist for the 18th of November (that's the earliest we can get in - ridiculous)

I love my mum!

Mum and I on my wedding day

It was my mums birthday on Saturday. She turned 50. She doesn't look it does she! And she has a 30 year old daughter (me) so how could she be only 50?!?!?!?
Mum found out she was pregnant with me when her and dad were only 18. They then turned 19 and then a few months later I was born. And now here we are.
On Saturday night mum and dad threw a big bash to celebrate turning 50. Dad's birthday is the 1st of September so being only a month apart what a prefect excuse to P.A.R.T.Y!
And that we did. The same people Prestige Event Hire that did my sisters wedding also set up for mum and dad's party. The band was the same band that my sister had for both her engagement party and wedding. Keith the band leader is a customer of dads and now they are friends.
We had a cake made by a local up and coming girl in the town where they live. We even had a photographer!!! (And as soon as I get those pictures, I will post them up!)
We had a great night celebrating with about 150 nearest and dearest to mum and dad. We danced, we ate, we drank and we laughed. We had a ball!!!
My sister and I even had to give a speech! What did we say? What do  you say to the "Best Parents in the world" ??? Well you tell all the guests exactly that! And you also let them know how amazing and wonderful they have been through your entire life.
My sister put if right when she said that this speech was going to be harder than our own weddings or even the Maid of Honour speech we both made at each others weddings. But we believe that we did a great job, and many many people told us so. We spoke from the heart and in the end that's all you can do.

7 x 7 x 7 (I have been tagged)

So last week I was tagged by Emmie from Desert Darling AND by Miss Pilbara Face...
Jeepers Creepers! Well Here it goes...

Desert Darlings Q & A...

1. If you could give your teenage self one piece of advice what would it be?
Your parents are the best parents in the world. They are strict on you because they want the best for you. Do as they ask, be kind and you will be rewarded in  the future. Oh, and don't fight with your little sister, one day you will realise that she is your best friend (well after your husband anyway)
2. Tell me about your first pet!
Tom! The ginger cat! My sister and I loved him so so much. He used to give you cuddles and was the greatest cat! We even had a little trike that was called "The Fetch Tom Bike" that we used to ride around the street to find him and bring him home.
3. If you had 1 million dollars to give to one charity, which charity would you chose?
This is a hard one. First thought was National Breast Cancer Research after my nana was diagnosed 2 Christmases ago. But my husband has just been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (dear blog friends you are the first people I have told)
So, I am bending the rules on this one and I'm going half half for my hypothetical donation.
4. Of the seven deadly sins (wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, gluttony) which do you consider the worst?
I think I'm going with Wrath.
5. What is your star sign?
I'm a fiery Sagittarius!
6. What is your happiest childhood memory?
I am not good at remembering childhood memories. So I really can't answer this one :-( I wish I could remember things from so long ago like my sister. I know I had a wonderful childhood. Filled with amazing family vacations, wonderful times and a life full of laughter and love.
7. What were you doing at this time three years ago?
Falling totally and utterly in-love with my now husband. No doubt I was working way way too hard and too many hours and hardly got to see my family or spend time with my Friends. Wow! Life is so much better 3 years on!

Pilbara Face's ! Q & A

1. What is your favorite food?
I am another hot chips fan!
2. If you could holiday anywhere, where would it be?
Honestly, I don't care! As long as I am with my Husband! And If It means I'm visiting my family then I am doubly happy!
3. What is your favorite colour?
Well because black and white are technically not colours, I'm going with blue. Growing up, I always had a blue room, my sister always the pink room.
4. If you weren't in your current line of work, what would you do instead?
I would love to do event planning! Or be an interior designer/decorator.
5. How many siblings do you have?
Three! One sister and two brothers. Me = 30, Sister = 27, Brothers are 22 & 19 (and born on the same day!)
6. Are you the outdoor type?
Can be, depends whats happening. I grew up on a little farm. I grew up water skiing. I love the sunshine (but I don't tan!)
7. I can has cheezburger?
I am confused??? No answer here...

OK, so now I have to tag 7 more people... Gee, this is hard...
I don't get many people reading/commenting on my blog...
So.... I am opening this to all of you that read or comment on my blog!
Let me know if you choose to answer my questions! I would love to see the answers!!!
Very easy, lighthearted questions! I don't fell like being too serious today!

1. Champagne/Wine/Beer?
2. Heels or flats? (side question - how many pairs do you own?)
3. How often do you change the sheets on your bed?
4. PC or Mac?
5. If you had a snail that could magically grant wishes, what would you name it?
6. If you could become a superhero for a day, who would you choose and why?
7. What are you really scared of?
